- Who?
- Who invented constellations?
- Our modern constellation system comes to us from the Ancient Greeks. The oldest description of the constellations as we know them comes from a poem, “Phaenomena”. Phaenomena was written about 270 BC. by the Greek poet, “Aratus”. Though, it is very clear from the poem that the constellations mentioned originated very long before Aratus’ time of living. Nobody is exactly sure where, when or by whom they were invented. Yet, a little detective work reveals a plausible origin.
